A memory frozen in time by DahmsArmageddon A memory frozen in time by DahmsArmageddon
This is my entry for the Merrell Diorama Contest

It's a representation of one of my favourite memories of all time. My mom took my brother my sister and me to a castle (I really can't remember which one it was D: ). Anyways it was a beautiful autumn day, the castle was half in ruins and half intact and there where people making bread and a pea soup. I got really hungry from the smell of the bread , but just bread wasn't enough for me but the pea soup looked absolutely disgusting so I asked my mom what she brought from home and all she brought was a buttered bread with a slice of cheese...so I took some of the pea soup and it was delicious :3
I chose to leave the background in grey and white to symbolize how everything "arround" that expression of my memory is frozen.
I also thought it looks relly nice <.<

On the technical side of things:
It's my first professional attempt at a diorama.
I made the whole diorama from scratch with styrofoam, cardboard, acrylic paint, sticks, model grass, hot glue, some balsa and gravel add 2 1/2 weeks of graft and SHAZZAM you got yourself a diorama.
I really hope all of you enjoy to look at it as much as I loved to build it. Pictures do not do this one justice but I hope they are okay, Olease leave some comments and/or constructive criticism, thank you very much everyone!

Hehehe thank you for your nice comment.
About the water...I'd like to keep it my little secret , but believe me when I say it's easier and cheaper than you might think.
One day I might reveal it, I might even make a tutorial.

Sure you can, but I used something else.
I thought about getting some sort of resin but decided against it when I saw the 18€ price tag for 100ml. And I know you can get it much cheaper on the internet but I neither had the time nor the muse to wait for shipping. So I feel that for my purposes my alternative works much better.
